Infinite Lives

A quick second glance I take
What did I know, that I didn’t before
Caught some moments, unlike old
Nothing less, nothing quite more.

Had it been the same, all along
Everything out in the plain sight?
Why does it feel like a dream,
That eludes just when I write.

One moment a fumble, the same I caught
Figuring a way, this time I crossed;
Some magic that helped I thought,
Where in reality, it turned out a pause.

And came a rewind, a forward play
A new life? I’m afraid
Same old story, yet anew
Nothing to lose, none to grade.

Can I go again, like I never did
Off the need to remember,
One moment a clown, next to win
Then to slip, and again to grin.

Less of a race, more as a pace
Of tomorrows and yesterdays,
Ago-s and afar-s, everything in time
Taking the chances, skipping the rhyme.

Same picture, different stories
Reality that escapes its fate!
Hitting refresh, starting the game
Infinite forms to create.
