Ripples

As the sun shone its warmth
Glistening o’er the river bed
Breeze came by, I sensed
Gathering leaves from the spread.

I picked a pebble, a little one
A naive smile crossed over
Throwing into the wind, I lean
With a gaze full of wonder.

Down there I saw, small waves
Patterns of those float in spree
Round about they formed circles,
Going like wrinkles in glee.

Just then I ponder how it feels
To get lost in such train of thought;
Deep inside, with blames and guilts
And some dreams left unsought.

Why does it feel like a series
Of endless fight with the self?
Wave by wave fear surrounds,
Soon after starts to engulf.

There’s something in common
To search in fear and amuse—
Both set us in motion,
Where we learn and lose.

Did we forget in our journey
Wearing childlike wonder on the sleeve?
Simple, joyous, and full of life
Like how ripples on water weave.
