Quietude

In the wink of a warm dawn
As rays race against the sky,
I sat by the edge of the porch
While myriad musings pass by.

Between the sounds of soft honks
When brisk walkers criss-cross,
I suddenly felt a nagging urge
To find quiet in life’s farce.

Umpteen ideas, plenty chores
Volatile days always in haze;
Thoughts tie to a gushing sea
So is there calm in the waves?

Or inside airy tranquil cafés
Wherein dwell quiet nooks,
What it feels like to freeze time
And experience some solitude.

Running in and out of ponder
I was well into mid morn,
Chasing after a sense of serene
With bouts of blur in turn.

Bridging pieces of worldly spaces
Only to revel in repose;
What if I begin to look inward
Making peace with my chaos.
